- Abstract
The book "The Theory of the State after Poulantzas," compiled by Jorge Sanmartino and published in 2020, is a collection of essays that address the theory of the State after Poulantzas. The book recognizes the important contribution of Nicos Poulantzas to the study of the State and presents a diversity of authors and theoretical approaches to understand it. The importance of studying and understanding the recent transformations of the State, as well as its role in current society, is highlighted. The essays are written by different authors, including Jorge Sanmartino, Álvaro García, Fred Block, Robert Jessop, Michael Mann, and Joel S. Migdal. The relevance of these texts for the study of the State in Latin America is emphasized, and the need for theories that allow for understanding the State in its various forms and contexts is mentioned.
