Seifrid, Thomas
- Abstract
The article focuses on the existential drama of Soviet author Andrei Platonov's narratives. It discusses how the existential drama running through Platonov's narratives is staged as a "drama of sight." It also discusses his depiction of the transition from life to death in the novel "Chevengur" and his blindness to what is seen with death in the work "Dzhan," and the ideological dimension of visual motifs, particularly the motif of resignation from sight or blindness.
