- Abstract
The article presents pathologic findings in hibernating bats with white-nose syndrome (WNS) in the Northeastern States. The authors reveal the presence of the fungus in the skin lesions through direct microscopy of skin scrapings. They mention that the internal organs of the examined bats were free of macroscopic lesions and all were rabies negative. They also state that they found that mercury and selenium were higher compared to those found in other species of bats.
