- Abstract
An essay is presented on the sexuality of playwright William Inge. The author mentions that Inge has never wrote anything about being a gay, though LGBT characters were present in his play "Boy in the Basement" and the screenplay for "Bus Riley Is Black in Town." He adds that a persistent consciousness about gender and sexuality emerges in all the writing of Inge, despite of his repressed same-sex feelings.
