- Authors
Schultz-Venrath, Ulrich
- Abstract
The article deals with Werner Kemper, a relatively unknown member of the German Institute for Psychological Research and Psychotherapy during the Third Reich. Kemper was a psychoanalyst who was interested in psychosomatic phenomena and hypnosis. He was a senior physician at a private sanatorium in Berlin-Grunewald and had connections to well-known psychoanalysts such as Eitingon, Abraham, and Simmel. The article also mentions Kemper's emigration to Rio de Janeiro in 1948 and his establishment of a psychoanalytic institute there. It is noted that there is still no comprehensive biography of Werner Kemper.
