- Authors
Romá, Armando Alberola
- Abstract
The diaries provide abundant and detailed information which allows historians to prepare proxy data aiming to the reconstruction of climate in the past. This article analyse six valencian diaries from XVIth and XVIIth centuries, focusing on the detection of differents waves of heat and cold, as well as droughts, periods of intense precipitations, floods and «riada» events, in the town of Valencia (Spain). In addition, cultural responses, such as prayers «pro pluvia» or «pro serenitate», have been analysed.
