Examines the effect of aluminum on the in vitro nucleation of hydroxyapatite (HA) by the synthetic calcium-acidic phospholipid-phosphate complex, calcium-phospbatidyl serine-phosphate. formation and growth rates by other biologically relevant chemical moieties; Distortion and subsequent destabilization of prenuclei due to the smaller size of magnesium relative to calcium ions; Range of the aluminum concentrations which reduced of amorphous calcium phosphate transformation and HA crystal growth.
