- Abstract
he article discusses the vulgar modernism and vernacular aspect of British Architecture by the self-proclaimed champion of modernism and editor of the Architectural Review (AR) J. M. Richards. The article evaluates the architectural design of British vernacular architecture beyond its traditional base of pre-modern domestic and industrial architecture. Information on the book "The Castles on the Ground" published by Richards is also provided.
