- Title
Review: McEnery, Hardie and Younis (eds). 2019. Arabic Corpus Linguistics. Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press.
- Authors
Al-Surmi, Mansoor
- Abstract
In Chapter 1, the authors begin with background information about corpus linguistics, the Arabic language, and the status of Arabic corpus linguistics. While Chapters 2 and 3 deal with corpus construction, Chapters 4 and 5 extend the discussion to corpus annotation. This is a very useful chapter for anyone who is interested in creating a corpus for another Arabic dialectical variety with many insights on the technical side of developing the corpus such as morphologic segmentation and processing, and on managing the corpus and making it available publicly.
