- Abstract
This article is part of the field of study of material culture and begins from the idea that everyday objects are a gateway to the understanding of different dynamics and social relations. In this respect, it observes, describes and analyzes the clothing as an aspect of material life in the city of Cordoba in the late 18th century. Observed apparel inserted into the practices and social relations that it formed part, we approach issues of social representativeness of clothing, intergenerational movement of clothing, items related to clothing and hygiene and clothing as a strong indication gender. Throughout the article it can see that everyday objects have effects not only physical but also social and symbolic meanings that bring us closer to the compression of society in general.
