- Abstract
A biography of Maximilian Bernhard Ludwig Müller, also known as Count de Leon, is presented. He was born in 1788 in Kostheim, Germany. He claimed to have been visited by an angel in Wiesbaden, Germany. He established a church known as the Duchy of Jerusalem. He changed his name to Maximilian Ludwig Proli in 1826, became interested in alchemy, and became a freemason under the supervision of mentor Karl von Hesse-Kassel. He became acquainted with Harmonist George Rapp and visited the Economy, Pennsylvania, Harmonist society. He formed the group the New Philadelphia Society. He died in 1834.
