- Abstract
The article looks at the professional issues related to the influence of pseudoscience in contemporary clinical psychology. It discusses the historical and contemporary contexts of the gap between science and practice in clinical psychology. It provides an overview into the threats posed by pseudoscientific practices to evidence-based medicine including junk science, antiscience and pseudoscience. It states that the lack of scientific evidence in the field has transformed the profession toward guild status.
