- Abstract
The article examines the reasoning of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) with respect to jurisdiction in the Georgia v. Russian Federation case. It presents a historical background of the conflict between Russia and Georgia and discusses the purpose, goals, procedure and jurisdiction of the ICJ. It examines the purpose of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD) and the provisions dealing with dispute resolution.
