- Title
Notes for Posterity: An Owner's Annotation in an Early Piers Plowman Printing.
- Authors
SCHOTT, CHRISTINE
- Abstract
The article presents an essay that depicts England-based Bodleian Library Douce L-250, a copy of author Robert Crowley's second 1550 printing of the poem "Piers Plowman." It informs that the copy has been annotated by 17th century Catholic named Andrew Bostock and argues that Bostock's marginalia are notes for his descendants whom he expected to read and be corrected by his marginal defense of a marginalized faith.
