- Abstract
The article focuses on E. ON's replica of 1930s house adjacent to the BASF house to address Great Britain's tough targets for improving the energy efficiency of new homes. It states that by 2016, all new build houses in Great Britain must be zero carbon emissions. However, while the energy efficiency of new houses has been steadily improving in recent years, total energy consumption by the country's domestic housing sector has continued to rise. It mentions that to get a better idea of how to improve the energy performance of Great Britain's ageing housing stock, researchers led by energy supplier E.ON are building their own reproduction of 1930s house adjacent to the BASF house at the University of Nottingham in England.
