- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 17-year-old teenage girl with symptoms of nausea, near syncope, and visual scotomata who developed laryngeal dystonia when treated with metoclopramide. It states that laryngeal dystonia can be seen with dopamine-blocking agents but is uncommon and can presents with trouble swallowing and neck pain. It mentions that dystonic reactions have been also reported with lithium and serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
