This section provides information on several industrial research in progress on income security, insurance and benefits, as of April 1983. They include research on determining the involvement and relative effectiveness of various corporate wellness and health-care cost-containment programs, and research on how income maintenance in the U.S. has been affected by concern for the work issue and how reducing the present emphasis on income testing in welfare could make the system more equitable, while also reducing its work disincentive effects.
