- Abstract
The article discusses protective effect of detoxified rhus verniciflua stokes (DRVS) on human keratinocytes and dermal fibroblasts against oxidative stress. It mentions that bioactive phenolics in DRVS including gallic acid, sulfuretin, and tetragalioyl glucose may slow down skin aging by regulating matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) expression. It further states that over-production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes oxidative stress.
