- Abstract
This article, titled "Molecular Accessibility and Diffusion of Resorufin in Zeolite Crystals," explores the behavior of a color-changing dye called resorufin in zeolite crystals. In free solution, resorufin emits a fuchsia-colored light, but when it enters the micropores of zeolite-β, it picks up a proton and fluoresces with a bright orange light. The researchers used this phenomenon to study the accessibility and diffusion barriers in zeolites. The article provides more detailed information on this research, which was conducted by B. M. Weckhuysen and co-workers.
