- Abstract
The field of history of science has evolved and diversified over the past few decades, encompassing not only the natural sciences, medicine, and mathematics, but also the social sciences, humanities, and the study of the relationship between science and technology. The discipline has embraced inter- and transnational perspectives, as well as postcolonial and decolonial aspects. The history of science has become an interdisciplinary field, exploring the relationship between science and other forms of knowledge. This special issue aims to highlight the diversity and vibrancy of current research topics and approaches in the histories of science, including the history of the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, communication practices, digital history, and the role of technology. The contributions also demonstrate the connections between histories of science and other fields of historical research, such as gender history, colonial history, media history, and environmental history.
