Bundesregierung sichert sich Produktionskapazitäten für Impfstoffe.
- Abstract
The federal government has signed contracts with five pharmaceutical companies to secure production capacities for vaccines until 2029. The companies are Biontech, Celonic, IDT, as well as two bidding communities consisting of Curevac and GSK, and Wacker and Cordenpharma. The contracts enable the federal government to access the production capacities in the event of an ongoing Covid-19 pandemic or a new pandemic. The federal government pays the companies an annual readiness fee and expects costs of approximately 2.9 billion euros for the years 2022 to 2029. Zeta has opened a new branch in Singapore to intensify its business activities in Asia. The company offers customized aseptic process solutions and plans to respond flexibly and quickly to customer inquiries in Singapore. FH Münster has put a pilot plant into operation that extracts hydrogen and methane from brewery wastewater. The research team aims to utilize industrial residues that have so far been hardly used energetically. Evonik Venture Capital is investing in the US company Laxxon Medical, which has developed a 3D screen printing technology for the rapid production of tablets. The technology enables controlled release of active ingredients over a longer period of time. Bayer plans total investments of around 2 billion euros in German locations to further develop the company strategically and create sustainable employment growth from 2025.
