- Abstract
The article discusses the implications of meta-analysis of cell transplant for the treatment of multiple myeloma. It is inferred that tandem transplantation did not show any beneficial effect on overall survival (OS) or event-free survival (EFS) in myeloma. A study presented by Kumar et. al suggests serious error in the comparison of single against tandem transplantation. In contrast, a study from Abdelkefi et al shows that single autologous stem-cell transplantation has dramatic benefit. Chart for data errors in meta-analysis is also presented.
