GERMS ON A PLANE!: LEGAL PROTECTIONS AFFORDED TO INTERNATIONAL AIR TRAVELERS AND GOVERNMENTS IN THE EVENT OF A SUSPECTED OR ACTUAL CONTAGIOUS PASSENGER AND PROPOSALS TO STRENGTHEN THEM.
- Authors
Harrington, Alexandra R.
- Abstract
The article discusses the international laws that govern the protection of international air travelers from health threats. It mentions that the International Health Regulations (IHR) was created by the World Health Organization (WHO) to establish equal rules among WHO members in handling medical and health administration and issues. However, the IHR regime and diplomatic conventions failed to offer adequate rules for air travel which indicates the need to amend the IHR and Vienna Conventions.
