- Title
Animal Models of Spondyloarthritis: Do They Faithfully Mirror Human Disease?
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses a study to determine the location of interleukin-23 (IL-23) production and its role in the development and progression onspondyloarthritides (SpA) in curdlan-treated SKG mice. It highlights the fact that the development of SpA driven by a microbial stimulus depends on the interplay of mucosal regulation and IL-23 mediated signaling through multiple downstream pathways including up-regulation of ER stress and local and systemic proinflammatory cytokines.
