- Title
A European Geography of Patristic Scholarship in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries.
- Authors
Quantin, Jean-Louis
- Abstract
The article expands history of patristic printing in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries. It mentions that as censorship came into greater force, printers devised new ways to ensure that their editions of the Church Fathers could be sold on a multi-confessional market. It also informs on neglected peripheries of the republic of letters, whether small presses in the Holy Roman Empire and France, or libraries and scholars in Italy, England, and Spain.
