- Abstract
The method for the immunofluorescent detection of S-cells in Pisum sativum L. after bromodeoxyuridine-labeling, reported previously (Levi et al. 1987), has been modified with the use of the biotin-streptavidin system and Texas Red as fluorescent tag. This improvement led to a marked increase in the potential of the method, permitting the determination of the labeling index also after short pulses (15 min), bivariate bromodeoxyuridine/DNA cytofluorimetry and a high resolution of the distribution of labeling over the nucleus.
