- Title
Veterinary Medical Ethics.
- Abstract
The article discusses two ethical questions related to veterinary medicine. The first question involves a veterinarian who learns that a local dog trainer is providing misinformation about rabies vaccines and advising clients on how to falsify vaccination certificates. The veterinarian attempts to educate the puppy's owner about the risks and lack of validity of these claims but is concerned about potential backlash. The second question pertains to a client who self-refers to a general practitioner after being referred to a board-certified surgeon. The receiving veterinarian requests a referral from the original veterinarian, raising questions about the implication of sending the referral. The article provides ethical commentary and suggests possible courses of action for both scenarios.
