- Abstract
This article reports on seed dressing trials in East Midlands to study the control of wheat bulb fly in winter wheat. Seed dressing treatments were compared with combine-drilled granules at Morton Fen, Bourne, Lincolnshire. Phytotoxicity was conspicuous by its severity with the two double seed dressing treatments, and with the trichloronate seed dressing and granules; diazinon granules gave the best yield in spite of an initial delay in germination. The organophosphorus materials gave some control but seed dressing phytotoxicity indicated that the granular formulations might be more promising.
