- Abstract
This article reports on the incidence of the leekmoth, Acrolepia assectella Zell, on leeks in the Royal Horticultural Society's Vegetable Trial Grounds at Wisley, England in August 1959. The pest attacked about 80 per cent of the plants, many of them being severely damaged. In 1959, it appeared that good control was obtained at Wisley by the application of DDT emulsion at the rate normally recommended for caterpillars. In 1960, however, four applications were given without completely eradicating the pest, which continued to cause damage until mid-October.
