- Abstract
This chapter offers a snapshot of the readings that scholars of Translation Studies were offered by colleagues in 2012, it is divided into seven sections: 1. Introduction; 2. ‘From Translation Theory to Translation Studies’, takes stock of the reference works dealing with the theory but also presenting theoretical passages on crucial themes to the future generations of scholars; 3. ‘Methods, Discourse and Interpretation’, engages with the titles that brought to the fore new methods and new concerns; 4. ‘Professional and Philosophical Discourse on Ethics’, focuses on the range of publications that bridge professional and moral concerns regarding practices, ethics, and the evolutions of both; 5. ‘Historiography and Translation History’, is a growing field of activity and this is evident in the number of studies published in 2012; 6. ‘Audiovisual Translation’, focuses on new research questions and applying innovative methods devised in Audiovisual Translation to cognate disciplines; 7. ‘Translating Theatres, Translating Literatures’, shows the constant interest in literary translation that is challenging other areas of Translation Studies with both intriguing and stimulating new observations and quests.
