- Abstract
An essay is presented concerning what the author refers to as a gap between the history of U.S. finance and labor and its relation to capitalistic notions of a dichotomy of labor and money. The article examines economic transitions, social history, and social class relations. It also discusses class struggles concerning the means of production and the means of payment.
