- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the information-seeking behaviors of engineering faculty members at different research institutions in the U.S. The study explores the findings of several user studies conducted at single library and analyzes the generalizability of these results to other similar academic libraries. The survey carried out by the researchers consists 12 items including demographi, close- and open-ended questions to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. The results of the study suggest that practitioner-researchers should fully articulate their research's scope and should carefully define and represent the population of their study.
