- Abstract
The article focuses on the sustainability of an organizational development (O.D.) intervention through a firm's movement toward empowerment and teamwork in the U.S. It highlights the professional journey of professional organization and an architectural firm Tsoi/Kobus & Associates (TK&A) toward empowerment and its shift toward a participative management system. It notes that TK&A was founded in 1983 by Edward Tsoi and Richard Kobus during the time when the O.D. intervention was first employed. It concludes that when times are difficult, organizations are forced to search for ways to survive and when things are going well, it takes visionary leadership and commitment to move ahead.
