- Abstract
The article outlines the history of successful rescue of Jewish refugees in the Philippines during the European Holocaust, 1937-1941. It details how German Jewish refugees from Shanghai, China were deposited into Manila, the Philippines and placed by the Jewish Refugee Committee (JRC) in Manila. It discusses the efforts of an American Refugee Economic Corporation (REC) and others including Philippines President Manuel Luis Quezon y Molina and Paul V. McNutt, in planning further rescue programs.
