- Abstract
This article aimed to analyze how the leadership styles of managers relate to individual performance in the work of employees. Therefore, it is characterized as a descriptive and predominantly quantitative approach. For data collection, three questionnaires were used, divided into three parts: Part I - Personal and occupational data; Part II - Leadership Styles, adapted by Moscon (2013); and, Part III - Performance at Work, by Queiroga, Borges-Andrade and Coelho-Jr. (2015). The study was carried out with a sample of 308 individuals, composed of workers from Santa Maria/RS, occupying positions linked to a hierarchical superior. From the results, it was possible to identify that the leadership style that was best related to individual performance at work was Transactional Leadership, and in the transactional leadership subdivision, task-oriented performance was the one that presented a slightly higher index. high of ratio. It was concluded that there is a relationship between the constructs of leadership styles and performance at work, and this correlation is positive.
