- Abstract
This study aims to analyze the supervision classification technique in the context of Remote sensing, as well as to emphasize and discuss how the monitoring of land use and cover has been an increasingly frequent practice and assumes special prominence, when it comes to monitoring the terrestrial surface, be it environmental and/or other purposes. To fulfill the objective, a literature review based on bibliometric analysis was carried out on the two main terms "Remote Sensing" and "Land use and cover", through which it was possible to diagnose which are the main countries producing scientific content on the topic, the main journals used for scientific dissemination and the evolution of research over the years. Thus, it was possible to diagnose that land use and coverage is still not widely disseminated outside the professions that work with this type of survey, therefore, this study concludes that the methodology of land use and coverage coupled with remote sensing techniques has a great importance, whether in the technical or academic world and is evolving.
