- Abstract
The article discusses a case of an acute infection by an intra erythrocytic protozoan parasite of the genus Babesia called Babesia gibsoni in a seven year old female German shepherd dog. It states that Giemsa staining of blood specimen obtained from the dog revealed Babesia gibsoni infection, resulting to Babesiosis. It mentions that the dog underwent medical treatment and showed positive responses. It also considers Ixodid ticks as vectors for the parasitic organism.
