- Abstract
The article focuses on the effect of cohabitation on children's wellbeing. Indicators on the child's wellbeing of cohabiting families include socio-economic resources, such as attainment of formal education, limited legal protections compared to married families, and family instability. The effect on children of cohabiting stepfamily land married stepfamily, cohabiting families with two biological parents and cohabiting families with one biological parent and a partner is also examined.
