- Abstract
The urban life, the everyday life rush and light pollution are factors that have contributed to people not looking to the night sky anymore, ignoring even the most common constellation of the Southern Hemisphere: the Southern Cross. Seeking to encourage the teaching of Astronomy in a way that is accessible to any school and even daytime classes, we present a playful and manipulative low-cost material, through which the constellations configurations can be simulated and become familiar to students, who will later be able to recognize them in the night sky. We also search for stimulating students to look at the sky, to identify constellations and to acquire scientific knowledge in the subject.
