- Abstract
The agriculture industrialization and diversification of the consumption of the chontaduro, are an alternative to use to the maximum the different crops, to take advantage of their nutritional content and to avoid the loss of big volumes of this fruit like it happens at the present time. This project has been centered in outlining a solution to the problem of the high production of the chontaduro in the different regions of the country and of the positioning of this exotic fruit in international markets, using the visual inspection and the digital prosecution of images like tool for the classification of the fruit in different categories and for the control of quality; since it is evident that, their external aspect and their color are among the most important parameters that define the quality of the fruit. To achieve it, an inspection system is designed that classifies the chontaduro for its application in having derived evaluating the color, presence of defects, size, forms and chalice presence. The percentage of total reliability of the system is of 96%, considered as excellent been since, for the great majority of fruits it is made consist that the norm contemplates until 10% of tolerance in each classification for its respective application. The times that it uses the system to inspect, to analyze and to give a definitive result, they are not the most appropriate for the on-line classification of fruits; but, at the moment, there are many forms and methods that allow to make a quite considerable reduction of the times of prosecution.
