- Abstract
The article analyzes the conditions prevailing in Jerusalem and Yehud during the Persian period. It is reported that, while reconstructing the history of Ancient Israel the three important area of interest should be archaeology, the biblical text, and ancient Near Eastern records. It is reported that, while the description of the construction of the city-wall in Nehemiah 3 and the List of Returnees in Ezra and Nehemiah reflects late Hellenistic period, the Jerusalem during the Persian period was 22.5 hectares.
