- Abstract
The article discusses the court case U.S. v. Jones wherein the government was held for its inadequacy to promote privacy for citizens and efficiency to enforce law. The U.S. Supreme Court examined global positioning system monitoring in Antoine Jones's car and ruled that he violated his reasonable expectation of privacy (REOP). The Court ruled that the government will define parameters of voluntary disclosure, extent of REOP for establishing constitutional limits to surveillance.
