- Abstract
The article presents a comparative study on geno-environmental interaction, and spontaneous and 5-Fluorodeoxyuridine (FUdR) induce chromosomal instability in British Suffolk and Pakistani Lohi breeds of sheep ( Ovis aries). It says that the cytogenetic data of chromosomal damage like aberrant cell count (AC), defined as the number of metaphase cells exhibiting breaks and gaps in chromatids or chromosomes. It also mentions that blood samples of Suffolk sheep were held in heparinized vacutainers and cultured in Cytogenetic Unit of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Science at Langford University of Bristol, England. Results showed that the genomic stability showed by Lohi genome is credited to environment exposure with relatively low level of automobile and industrial pollutants.
