- Abstract
The article discusses issues related to wealth icon and philanthropist Brooke Astor and elder abuse in New York City. It explores the book of Meryl Gordon regarding Astor and her association to vulnerable elder abuse phenomenon and the engagement of her family to epic family dysfunction. It mentions the case of Anthony Marshall, the only child of Astor. It examines the remedies for elder abuse and the implication and association of the case of Astor to the development of issues concerning vulnerable elder abuse. It highlights the role of attorneys who were appointed by the court to be the representative on the guardianship case of Astor.
