- Title
A TORT FOR THE DIGITAL AGE: FALSE LIGHT INVASION OF PRIVACY RECONSIDERED.
- Authors
Goldberg, John C. P.; Zipursky, Benjamin C.
- Abstract
This article explores the concept of false light invasion of privacy and argues for its recognition as a valid tort. The authors suggest that false light should be seen as a distinct privacy tort, separate from defamation and emotional distress. They emphasize the importance of controlling the dissemination of false information about a person's private life, which can be highly offensive and harmful. The article also addresses criticisms against false light and discusses its implications in the digital age.
