The article discusses a study which analyzes the antimicrobial properties of sphagnum moss. Investigated is the role of sphagnum moss in bandage preparation and wound dressings during the Great War in 1914-1918. A table is presented on an antimicrobial activity of aqueous and protein extracts of macrofungi against clinical pathogens.
