FROM A BROOK TO A RIVER: ESDR'S FIRST SIX YEARS.
- Authors
Jung, Ernst G.
- Abstract
The article gives an account of European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR). The European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR) was founded in 1971 and the first annual meeting was held in Noordwijk. Eighty five charter members and 48 guests participated. Since then the ESDR has grown continually. Reviewing the first six years, one may even say that our Society has almost explosively expanded and has now become so important that the starting period can be considered to have come to an end. The lively mountain brook has grown into a large river but the first enthusiasm has by no means faded. The number of members has increased from 85 to 288. All other activities have proved to be useful and worthwhile enough to be continued. During its first six years the ESDR has managed to become a true European society to serve dermatological research. Its activities are diversified; it is respected and highly esteemed.
