- Abstract
The article discusses the use and potential toxicity of supplemental and herbal medications in the U.S. which are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of diseases. It also discusses regulations associated with the use of herbal and supplemental medications in the U.S. including the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA). It suggests to check herbal medications for their potential toxicity having butterbur, chaparral, and comfrey.
