- Abstract
Sports analytics has become a large part of most professional sports and many college sports. The skills needed to work in sports analytics include computer knowledge, statistical expertise, and the ability to work with large "big data" data bases. This article discusses the process by which the sports analytics concentration was developed in the Sport Management Department at Rice University. The courses that were developed and the students who have gone on to work in the field.
