The article presents a proposal for conserving the current use of the name Acacia multipinnata against Acacia paniculata. Particular focus is given to the problematic taxonomic status of Acacia, as well as the type material for Acacia paniculata. Also mentiond are morphological characteristics of the species and confusing name usage for the two species.
